Kara joined the ASK Friendship Society in 2015 as the Executive Director. At ASK, her role is to provide leadership to all ASK Friendship Centre staff and to advance the Society’s strategic priorities with the Board of Directors. Kara has her Master of Gerontology degree from Simon Fraser University and her Bachelor of Sociology degree from the University of Victoria. One of Kara’s passions throughout her career has been ensuring people with dementia and their caregivers have access to high quality services, support, and care. In her spare time, you can find Kara riding her bike or playing at the park with her husband and 4-year-old daughter.
Miranda is an experienced health care professional with over 25 years in various health care settings and who joined the ASK Friendship Society team in 2010. At ASK, her role is to provide leadership to the Adult Day Program, fundraising initiatives, and outreach programs. Miranda’s background is in Occupational Therapy, Gerontology and Non-Profit Management and she completed her education in Ontario and British Columbia. One of Miranda’s passions throughout her career is ensuring continuous quality services are created and provided for every person utilizing health care services. In her spare time, you can find Miranda enjoying activities with her husband, 3 kids and 2 dogs.
Dione is a Registered Nurse with over 20 years’ experience in various health care settings, joining the ASK Friendship Society team in 2015. At ASK, her role is to provide medical care, information and emotional support to ASK’s clients and caregivers. Dione competed her nursing education at BCIT in 1996. One of her passions throughout her career is client advocacy and education. She believes providing knowledge and support can help both clients and their caregivers achieve their optimal level of health and wellness. In her spare time, you can find Dione spending time with her family keeping warm around a campfire.
